WPL's products were in full view and in use at Belmont Park's food-service facilities on Saturday, June 5, 2004, when tens of thousands of racing enthusiasts were on hand to enjoy the race to the $5 million Visa Triple Crown.
Belmont Park's Garden Terrace Dining Room, a glass-enclosed restaurant in the clubhouse that offers patrons a view of the entire track, was the site of a pre-race VIP reception. Enhancing the dining experience was the presentation of the food on WPL's white tablecloths, highlighted by dark green napkins. Green is Belmont's official color.
In addition to the Garden Terrace Dining Room, WPL's fine linens were featured at Belmont Park's other dining facilities, including The Paddock Dining Room, The Belmont Café, The Hofbrau, The Belmont Grill, The Saloon, and the Food Court.
WPL delivered 10,000 napkins, 2,500 tablecloths, 200 table skirts, and clothing (shirts, trousers, and chef coats) for 250 people. As part of its service, WPL bagged all linens by location and tagged every individual bag to ensure delivery to the correct facility within Belmont Park.
"We're happy and fortunate to have Belmont Park as a client," says Bruce Botchman, President of White Plains Linen. "As all our customers know, our company tries hard every day to win the triple crown in terms of service, selection, and quality."
In addition to Belmont Park, WPL provides linen rental services to other sporting venues, including Aqueduct Race Track and Yankee Stadium. Among WPL's 2,000 customers are many of the tri-state area's best-known restaurants, hotels, conference centers, and catering services. Customers include Jean-Georges, Abigail Kirsch Culinary Productions, Alain Ducasse at the Essex House, Yale University, Fresco by Scotto, Petrossian, and the Mamaroneck Beach & Yacht Club. One of WPL's newest customers is Butter Restaurant, the popular new eatery in Manhattan's East Village.
